Next week, on the 5th of November, Demos will be publishing a collection of essays on the global financial crisis. It'll be called After the Apocalypse, although it's far from clear that the apocalypse is over. The question is what we do when the dust does settle.

We asked a group of experts - academics, commentators, politicians - to give us their view. The question we posed was what can we do to stop a catastrophe like this being repeated? The result is fascinating, and as you would expect the answers have varied widely - not all, for example, believe that a repeat can be avoided.

The collection will be launched with an event at Demos next Wednesday evening - the 5th. It will be hosted by Phil Collins, Chair of Demos Trustees, with Vince Cable, Peter Hahn and several other of our essayists.
