From BBC news:
Homeowners need to be more aware of the risk of flooding even if they have never experienced it, says the head of Wales' flood defence strategy body. Some half a million people live in areas which need to "further develop resilience" to flooding, says the Flood Risk Management Wales Committee (FRMW). Chair Geraint Davies said: "Sometimes it's difficult to bring people to believe that they are at risk."

On Friday we were at the Emergency Planning College - their library (the largest depository of emergency / disaster management material in the UK) is an excellent resource but lacks I think one subject area that we are just getting to grips with - public behaviour/ and social psychology. New books like Here Comes Everybody and Nudge offer us a new perspective on thinking about resilience - something we will be looking into in more depth.
