Here’s a question: can anyone recommend me a good left-wing blog or two to add to my daily reading? At the moment i tend to visit Comment Central, the Spectator’s Coffee House blog, and Iain Dale – all of which are very readable but also come from a right-wing world-view. More balance needed.

I also visit Comment is Free, which has its own role. But as the name suggests it’s more of an aggregation of comment peices, rather than the up-to-the-minute, often half-formed ideas that turn up on blogs and make them enjoyable. So, i’m after interesting daily comment from a left-wing perspective – any thoughts?

I may as well take this opportunity to shamelessly plug Prospect's new blog - First Drafts - which you can find at www.prospect-magazine.co.uk/firstdrafts. It's not exactly "daily comment from a left-wing perspective," but it is, I respectfully submit, an interesting and original addition to the "dead trees" blogosphere.Tom

PS For (very) soft left coverage of international issues, have a look at Foreign Policy's excellent "Passport" blog

Cheers Tom. All other shameless plugs gratefully received..

Might not be what you are quite looking for, as he is hardly a counterpart to the Iain Dales of this world, but for a bit of blog stimulation, you can't do better than Norman Geras's Normblog.

Dave Hill's Temperama is very good and well rounded, and there's plenty of debate going on at Pickled Politics. Chris Dillow's Stumbling and Mumbling is also excellent.

Thanks Rob + Nick. I now have far too much to read every day and am looking for ones to cut out!
