Changes afoot..

It is very exciting news that the writer and thinker Richard Reeves was appointed new Demos director yesterday. He comes with a wealth and variety of experience - amongst much else he has worked at the Work Foundation, as an economics and social affairs journalist and as a columnist. Some will recognise him as co-author of this recent essay, others as presenter of the BB2 series Making Slough Happy. He has also recently published a book on John Stuart Mill.
Richard replaces Catherine Fieschi, who stepped down as director this week. She leaves after nearly two years as director, following her role as director of research, to focus more fully on her own writing and research interests.
Demos is hugely grateful to Catherine for her leadership, hard work and commitment to the organisation throughout her time here. We wish her all the best in her new pursuits, and look forward to continuing to work closely with her on several ongoing projects.
It's going to be a big change, but everyone here is excited to start a new chapter. A big welcome to Richard (who takes up his post in September), and a big thank you to Catherine.
