Also in the trusty Metro was a story on the lack of contact most of us have with our neighbours. Long gone are the days of gossiping over the garden fence, with Londerners unsurprisingly  figuring as the 'least friendly' nationally. Reforging that lost sense of community - particularly in metropolitan environments -  is surely a significant element in the resilience equation.
