I thought it was worth pointing towards Jeffrey Rosen's excellent piece in the New York Times. He focuses on the huge responsibilities faced by companies like Google, who have found themselves wielding significant power over the contours of freedom of speech and privacy online.

It's a superbly written take on some of the themes we highlighted in Video Republic. Some of the most complicated issues about content regulation, freedom of expression and privacy come from such a mix of organisations being involved in decisions that intersect business, legal and democratic imperatives.
