Policy Beats podcasts
by Peter Bradwell
Today we’re launching our new series of podcasts called Policy Beats. Jamie Bartlett and I will be out and about hunting for new policy ideas and speaking to leading figures from social and public policy. There’ll be a new episode every week. The aim is that in ten minutes you’ll be the pub expert on our weekly topic, or your money back.
We start with an interview with young leaders from the three main political parties; Elaine Bagshaw from Liberal Youth, Richard Angel from Young Labour and Michael Rock from Conservative Future.
With shifting political sands, we looked to the next generation to see what their vision for the future of their parties might be. Why did they put their faith in the party sytem at all? There was some robust partisan disagreement. Do let us know what you think of their performance. Perhaps you’re a member of the younger wing of a party and disagree with their representation? Get in touch with us at policybeats@demos.co.uk. Next week we'll be talking to Vince Cable, MP for Twickenham & Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer.

We can’t let this introduction pass without acknowledging our debt to Philosophy Bites, the excellent podcast by David Edmonds and Nigel Warburton.
