Demos and Ipsos MORI are delighted to convene a Citizens' Convention on the future of MPs' Expenses.

The outrage surrounding MPs' expenses represents one of the biggest crises in political engagement in the UK for a decade. Public anger is palpable and faith in the system at an all-time low. But this is also accompanied by unprecedented levels of public interest in how politics works, and a highly visible reassertion of politicians' accountability to the people.

On the day of European and local elections in the UK, Demos and Ipsos MORI will bring together a representative group of the public for an informed, constructive debate on how to reform the expense system. The event will involve a high-level panel of experts on constitutional reform and will be chaired by Channel 4's Krishnan Guru-Murthy. It will also culminate in a Citizens' Charter for Reform, to be submitted to the Committee for Standards in Public Life, which closes the following day.

This project is generously supported by the Southbank Centre and the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust.

As the audience for this event has been selected to be representative, we regret that we are unable to accommodate observers. For more information please contact celia.hannon@demos.co.uk or call 0207 367 6346.
