Demos and Friends Life are proud to present this private roundtable at the Conservative Party Conference, discussing ways in which government and business can encourage savings behaviour in the current economic climate. We are delighted to be joined by:

Andrew Bingham MP, Member of the Work and Pensions Select Committee

Martin Palmer, Head of Marketing, Friends Life

Paul Lewis, Presenter, BBC Radio 4's Moneybox (Chair)

Demos and Friends Life are delighted to present this event focusing on how savings behaviour can be achieved in the face of cultural obstacles such as the rising acceptability of indebtedness and short-termist financial outlooks. We will explore the need for a more nuanced policy approach which brings together business and government. The discussion will cover which 'nudges' are most effective for which groups and whether the time has come to move beyond matched-savings and auto-enrolment and on to more ambitious programmes.

This is an invitation only event, please contact seminars@demos.co.uk for more information.

Event address: Manchester Central, Windmill Street, Petersfield, Manchester, M2 3GX
