Demos, KPMG and the BVCA are proud to present this event for the Labour Party Conference, focusing on the means through which growth can be encouraged and the potential of venture capital to revitalise the British economy. We are delighted to be joined by:

Chi Onwurah MP, Shadow Minister for Business, Innovation and Skills

Alan Buckle, Deputy Chairman, KPMG International

Gary Duncan, Economics Commentator and former economics editor and columnist at The Times

Tim Hames, Head of Public Affairs, BVCA (Chair)

Chancellor George Osborne's decision to cut public spending and alleviate the deficit makes it clear that private funding and investment will play an increasingly important role in revitalising the British economy. This Demos, BVCA and KPMG event will debate strategies for economic recovery in light of Demos' research into venture capital and growth. We will discuss how businesses can support entrepreneurialism and create jobs; consider whether all growth is good growth; and debate whether venture capital can help to tackle inequalities in income and wealth.
