Demos is pleased to launch a new report on public service reform, 'Getting more for less: Efficiency in the public sector'. 'Getting more for less' looks at efficiency in the public sector, and particularly in the provision of public services, and at options for how this can be achieved in the context of a recession. It argues that the way to make savings in the public sector is to make sure it is effective – providing services that are driven by people’s needs. The report demonstrates how efficient services are the by-product of effective ones, and sets out options for how this can be achieved.

The launch event will take the form of a high-level roundtable attended by senior policymakers, commentators, and members of the third sector with expertise in this field. Speakers will include the report's author Jamie Bartlett; Sir Michael Bichard, Director of the Institute for Government; and Simon Duffy, Honorary Senior Fellow University of Birmingham.

We regret that this event is by invitation only. Please contact jamie.bartlett@demos.co.uk for additional information about the report or event.
