Demos, The Barrow Cadbury Trust and The Friends Provident Foundation are proud to present a panel event at the Liberal Democrat Conference to address issues around financial inclusion during the downturn. We are delighted to be joined by:

Stephen Williams MP, Member of Parliament for Bristol West

Mark Allan, Director of Services, Toynbee Hall

Karen Rowlingson, Director, CHASM

Danielle Walker-Palmour, Foundation Director, Friends Provident Foundation

Jo Thornhill, Personal Finance Reporter, Mail on Sunday (Chair)

The economic downturn threatens to undo much of the progress made by the previous government in addressing financial capability and inclusion. However, there are now greater opportunities to engage people and communities directly in financial health, from using the localism bill to develop community finance and credit sources and support to exploiting social media and other technological advances.
