Led by Tom Travers, former Head of Opportunities for the London Development Agency and author of the socio-economic impact objectives in the initial bid document, we will discuss how muchprogress has been made in achieving those goals, what has changed in the interim and what the long-term legacy is likely to be.

Speakers include Andrew Boff, GLA Conservative Group Olympic spokesman, JohnBiggs, GLA Labour Member of the Economy, Culture and Sport Committee, and Nick Raynsford Labour MP for Greenwich. The discussion will be chaired by Rob Whitehead, Deputy Director of Centre forLondon.

With the 2012 Games fast approaching, now is a good moment for planners, politicians andregeneration experts to reflect on the very initial aims of the Olympic Legacy, and the challengesinvolved in creating a whole new area of city and the new communities that will reside there.The audience will be made of a mixture of regeneration experts, community and private sectorstakeholders and informed journalists.

The event will be under Chatham House rules.
