Prevent is the strand of the UK’s counter-terrorism strategy CONTEST that seeks to prevent violent radicalisation. The Home Secretary recently announced a review of Prevent with a view to launching a refreshed version in the new year.

On Wednesday 15 December, Demos' Jamie Bartlett spoke at an expert seminar that will discuss how Prevent should be reformed under the new Government.

The seminar involved a panel of leading commentators on the subject, including: Jamie Bartlett (Head of the Violence and Extremism programme at Demos), Douglas Murray (Director at The Centre for Social Cohesion) and Maajid Nawaz (Director at The Quilliam Foundation). The event was chaired by Matthew Taylor (Chief Executive, RSA).
