John Reid on the Today programme criticised those who pay too much attention to 'rogue elements' in the security services. "Their position is not known. They have uncorroborated evidence. They were very small in number."

And the sources on which we based the foreign policy of the government?

I'm convinced it's all posturing so that their character is more prominent in the Tom Clancy dramatisation. I can see Ed Harris in the John Reid role. REID: Listen to me Humphreys, there are ROGUE ELEMENTS operating within the security services HUMPHREYS (played by Leslie Nielsen): Goddamit John, you're imagining things. REID: Am I Humphreys? AM I?
