Going... going... green

Demos is going zero carbon, zero waste. We'll be looking for interesting carbon offsets initiatives, and will try and convince our landlord to let us have a roof garden.
A bit more newsworthy perhaps, but today, one of London's largest hedge fund managers Man Group announced it is going carbon neutral. HSBC announced their plan to go carbon neutral in 2004.
Last year, in a move supported by most environmental groups, Goldman Sachs went even further and started advocating for environmental policy, recognising that financial institutions should play a 'constructive role in helping to address the challenges facing the environment' (GS website).
But will they keep the momentum without the personal commitment of Hank Paulson, former CEO of Goldman Sachs who has just accepted the job of US treasury Secretary?
Let's hope the new frenzy over all things green doesn't end in a few glossy magazine covers.
