The Collaborative State

29 Mar

Launching a new Demos collection

Date and time:
Thursday, 29th March 2007 at 6:30pm
Location:
The Innovation Unit, Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1W 0TT

Demos and the Innovation Unit are hosting a panel discussion to launch The Collaborative State, a new Demos publication.

Increasingly, creating public value requires collaboration between distinct organisations and people. As a result, policy makers and managers are seeking to understand successful collaborative models, and to develop the tools and skills needed to sustain collaboration successfully in different settings.

Building on its predecessor The Adaptive State, The Collaborative State is a collection of cutting-edge essays and case studies from leading international practitioners and scholars. Presenting insights and lessons of inter-organisational collaboration around the world, it offers a valuable addition to the debate on emerging trends in
government.

Chaired by Valerie Hannon, Director of Strategy at The Innovation Unit, the panel will include Barry Quirk, Chief Executive of Lewisham Council, Simon Parker, Demos Head of Public Services, as well as a senior figure from NCSL and central government. The evening will be introduced by Mike Gibbons, Chief Executive of The Innovation Unit.

This event is by invitation only. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to peter.harrington@demos.co.uk, or call 0207 367 6338.
