- Recyclebank I’ve just come across what looks like a brilliant recycling scheme in the US. It’s called RecycleBank and it works like this:1. Each house gets a recycling container with a barcode on it, that allows the recycling truck to identify what your household in recycling 2. The amount your home recycles is translated into RecycleBank Dollars (paid for by the council through the savings they make on landfill sites) 3. - In the bag This is a smart idea of from Tesco - people will be able to earn loyalty points for every old plastic bag they bring back and use in their stores. It looks like one of those win-win ideas: it works for the environment, adds to Tesco's green credentials, and encourages people to return to shop there. from : duncanoleary 4th August 2006
- Stern talking Couple of quick thoughts on the response to the Stern report on climate change today: - first, is it just me who finds it slightly ironic that not only is there a collective action problem amongst the public in addressing climate change, but there is also one amongst politicians? The public want to know that everyone else is going to jump before they do (so we all share the pain). And so do the politicians.
