Most homeless people lack the everyday life skills such as dealing with bureaucracy, networking and negotiating that we all take for granted. This report argues that we need a new approach to developing life skills as a way to tackle social exclusion. Attempts to help people develop life skills should start from the actual experiences of their lives, rather than attempting to teach life skills in a formal setting.

The Leadership Imperative explores the role of leadership in the emerging reforms of local children's services. It suggests that for the integration of services to work, leaders must focus upon changing the prevailing cultures of organisations, rather than altering the structure of services and hoping that working practices will naturally follow.

Based on over twelve months of embedded research, Bringing it Home: Community based approaches to counter-terrorism argues that, despite some commendable attempts at engagement, the Government’s actions continue to drive a wedge between the majority of British Muslims and the rest of society, rather than isolating the violent few.
