Joan-Anton is head of Strategy and Knowledge Management at Fundació Ramon Trias Fargas. Between 2001 and 2004, he was policy analyst for strategic and territorial development in the Catalan Government, and Coordinator of the Observatory of Strategic Development in Catalonia (ODECAT). As ODECAT Coordinator, he participated in the development of a number of projects and publications, including HiCat: HiperCatalunya Research Territories; Med-Arc Catalonia: The Mediterranean Knowledge Corridor; and Catalonia 2020: Visions for the Future of the Territory.

Joan-Anton holds a degree in Geography and History at the University of Barcelona. He has a doctorate in History and Civilization from the European University Institute in Florence (2001). He is the author of several publications including “Observatories, laboratories and prospective networks: Towards a multi-layered strategic development of the territory”, in HiCat: HiperCatalunya Research Territories.
