Marcus joined Demos as a Visiting Fellow in October 2009 where his work includes advising on communications and audio/visual strategy and research work on media-related issues such as copyright reform, file-sharing, intellectual property and privacy.
Marcus has fifteen years experience in a variety of media roles. His most recent work has been as a producer in the independent film sector – as well as working in an advisory capacity for Host Universal, the ethical communications consultancy. He is also a freelance non-fiction writer.
As a development producer, he has worked for a number of television production companies such as Tiger Aspect, Ricochet, Optomen and Monkey Kingdom originating programme content for broadcasters including the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky.
Prior to this, Marcus held various positions in the record industry such as Head of Licensing/ A&R for Music House, the UK's leading music promotion company, as well as running his own independent record label.
Marcus has a BA in Modern History from Oxford University.
