Maria completed a Masters in Philosophy at the University of St Andrews in September 2009 and since then has worked in policy and research at Crisis and the Fawcett Society. Before Masters study she worked in an MP's parliamentary office.
 
Her primary research interests include liberal political philosophy and the influence of health, environment and socioeconomic background on social functioning
