Marius holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and an MPhil in Political Theory, both from the University of Oxford. He is about to continue his studies there with a DPhil in Politics, with a thesis on federalism and community identification.

His wider research work covers an eclectic range of interests, including European party systems, political realism, metaphysics, and the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche, and he has recently become drawn to mutualist models of political and economic governance.
