Alan joined Demos in May 2010, full-time, working on the Open Left Project.
He graduated in 2009 with an M.A distinction in Political Theory and in 2007 with a First Class B.A in Philosophy and Religious Studies, both from the University of Manchester.
Prior to joining Demos, Alan interned as a constituency caseworker in the office of the former Labour MP, Rob Marris, and taught English as part of an ESOL course. He also interns for the educational disadvantage charity, Future First.
His research interests include liberal egalitarian political theory, education policy, exploring the relationship between the media and politics, and Indie music.
