Realising that business and society have much to offer each other, he now runs his own consultancy in Corporate Social Responsibility. His specialist field is Media CSR – he represents GCap Media on the Media CSR Forum – but he also works with clients in the water industry,  the law, and property. A qualified performance coach, he graduated in 2005 with an MSc in Responsibility and Business Practice from the School of Management at the University of Bath.

In parallel with his CSR Consultancy he is an experienced practitioner in Executive Branding, which helps people to discover and refine the personal brand values which give them their place in the world. He also runs Business Readings, which bring colleagues together to read and discuss the latest management thinking.

He is a trustee of the Demos think-tank, a member of the Council of the Schumacher Society and a founding director of the Association of Sustainability Practitioners. He sits on the Cause Related Business Leadership Team of Business in the Community, and chairs the music therapy charity Bristol MusicSpace, the Brief Encounters Short Film Festival and the fundraising committee of the At-Bristol Hands-On Science Centre. He is a trustee of the Wallace and Gromit's Children’s Foundation, which works with Aardman Animations to raise money for children’s hospitals throughout the UK. In 2004 he was elected to the Society of Merchant Venturers in Bristol, where he serves on the Project Board for the new Merchants’ Academy in South Bristol.

He lives in Bath with his partner Liesl and children Grace (14 years) and Sebastian (10 months). Friends express surprise when he tells them he is 48.
