The Cultural Age
Online and in the streets we encounter a more diverse range of cultures than ever before. Culture is a space in which values are expressed and interpretated. In partnership with the AHRC, Demos is hosting two seminars to investigate how policy-makers can link up with academics to think about what this means, and how the understanding of complex cultural issues can be brought into different policy areas.

- The Cultural Age Last week, we hosted the first of our Cultural Age Seminars. It addressed education for the cultural age. We've put a transcript of the opening speech on the website - it's available for download here.The next seminar will be held on 23rd June and will address Integration and Cohesion in the Cultural Age. Overcoming Cultural Inertia
Last week, I spoke at the Edinburgh International of Politics at an event which asked '"What Does the New Europe Mean For Artists and Cultural Policy Makers?".
The debate focused on the relationship between cultural practice and engagement and identity in an interconnected world.
