Today’s labour market is more flexible and dynamic but also more insecure and uncertain. The authors propose a new labour market institution – the employee mutual – to help give people the ability to cope in this volatile work environment. The employee mutual would bring together workers and employers to find solutions to shared problems such as job search, training and childcare.
