Richard Darlington is an Associate of Demos.

Richard Darlington is author of Open Verdict: why voters left Labour (2010), and the forthcoming  Through the Looking Glass.

He was Special Adviser at the Department for Education and Skills and worked on the 14-19 Curriculum Reform White Paper. He was Special Adviser to Labour's 2010 General Election Coordinator and Secretary of State for International Development (Douglas Alexander MP).

Richard worked at three Whitehall departments (including the former the Department of Trade and Industry) as Special Adviser and Senior Press Officer. He was Director of Communications for Creative Partnerships at Arts Council England and Media Manager at the Institute for Public Policy Research.

Richard has also worked at the TUC, T&G and National Union of Students. He holds a Masters Degree in Critical Theory from the University of Sussex.
